What Is The Session About?

In this 1-day intensive workshop, adult educators will dive into the innovative world of educational escape rooms. This hands-on course is tailored to equip you with practical skills for designing and implementing engaging activities that enhance adult learning experiences. You will learn the essentials of creating educational escape rooms, including how to set clear learning objectives and integrate both digital and physical elements. The workshop will emphasise critical skills such as problem-solving and collaboration. Through interactive, escape room-inspired activities, you will gain practical experience and receive feedback to refine your approach.

The topics in this workshop includes:
• Fundamentals of Educational Escape Room
• Designing an Educational Escape Room
• Tools and Resources to create an Escape Room
• Implementing and Facilitating an Escape Room

By the end of the course, you will have developed a fully functional escape room and acquired immediate, actionable skills to apply in your educational settings. This workshop is ideal for educators seeking to innovate their teaching strategies and deliver dynamic, effective learning experiences.

Create Engaging Storylines and Themes
Develop and Integrate Effective Puzzles and Challenges
Utilise Appropriate Tools and Resources to create an Escape Room
Facilitate and Assess Escape Room Activities

Who Is It Suitable For?

  • Adult Education: Individuals who are involved in learning design, curriculum development, learning facilitation, assessment of learning competence, learning technology integration and/or providing consultancy and advisory services to drive business performance.
  • Human Capital Development (HCD): Individuals who are in-company L&D staff who are involved in building employee capabilities to support business needs.

Course Funding and Policies

Payment

Please proceed to make payment via eNets/credit card (VISA or MasterCard) at the end of the registration process. Kindly note that the system will automatically cancel the registration if full payment has not been successfully processed by 11.59pm (Singapore Time) on the same day of the registration. You will have to reapply for the course, subject to availability of vacancy at the point of your re-registration.


Additional Funding Available, If Applicable

Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset the selected programmes' fees for self-sponsored registrations only.


Please note the submission period for your SFC claim via MySkillsFuture needs to be within 60 days before the course start date (date inclusive). If your course start date is more than 60 days from the date of SFC application, the SSG-SFC portal would reject your application. In this case, you would need to pay the full course fees at the end of your course application.

Rescheduling

Request for rescheduling it must be submitted to IAL 2 weeks before the commencement of programme. Reschedule requests that come mid-way through training has to be supported by valid reasons; substantiated by references as evidence; such as a doctor's note; or a hospitalization chit.


Please submit your request to reschedule your course at MyIAL. A non-refundable administrative fee of

S$54.50 w/GST ($50) applies for the request and the next available slot will be offered


Withdrawal

Request for withdrawal from a programme is subjected to review by IAL and the decision is final. IAL reserves the right to request for supporting document(s). A non-refundable administration fee of

S$54.50 w/GST ($50) is applicable for withdrawal request. If the withdrawal notice is given less than 2 weeks before the programme start date, the paid fees will not be refunded.


Corporate Run

For dedicated corporate runs with a contract signed with IAL, billing and payment will follow the terms of the signed contract. Otherwise, payment would be expected upon registration.

About The Speaker

Eunice Lim (Ms)

Adult Educator | RE Training & Consultancy Pte Ltd

Eunice Lim is currently an Adjunct AE at IAL and runs her own learning consultancy company providing learning solutions to companies. Her key expertise is in learning and development with more than 14 years of experience in this sector. 


As an advocate for tech-enabled learning, she has influenced and mentored educators and several organisations across various industries to innovate and improve their learning and development capabilities. 


Eunice was one of the recipients for the SkillsFuture Fellowship award in 2021. Eunice is currently doing her PhD, holds a MA in Professional Education with NTU/NIE, MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Herriot Watt University and BBA in Business Administration from RMIT University. She also holds WSQ SDAF, DACE and ACTA certificates.

She is a Google for Education Certified Innovator, Trainer as well as Certified DiSC Trainer. She is currently a Co-Chairperson for Special Interest Group - Learning Technology as part of Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Adult Educator Network (AEN ) initiative.
