As we close 2024, it’s time to review and reflect on how we’ve embraced and reinvented the changes in the evolving AE landscape. In this session, we'll explore the transformative impact of AI and technology on adult learning. This interactive session reflects on 2024's key innovations and looks ahead at how educators can harness AI to reinvent their roles. Join us to gain insights, future-proof your teaching, and stay ahead in an AI-driven educational landscape. Join us as we hear from our invited speakers, who will share valuable insights from their research to help us chart our future.

Who Is It Suitable For?

Adult Education: Individuals who are involved in learning design, curriculum development, learning facilitation, assessment of learning competence, learning technology integration and/or providing consultancy and advisory services to drive business performance.


Learning Management: Individuals who are involved in management and support of learning programmes, systems and technology management and implementation, quality assurance of learning programmes and/or driving business development.


Human Capital Development (HCD): Individuals who are in-company L&D staff who are involved in building employee capabilities to support business needs.

About The Speaker

Darren Tjan (Mr)

Darren Tjan (Mr)

Adult Educator | Institute for Adult Learning

Darren Tjan (Mr) is a consultant, trainer and learning designer with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and organisations in the areas of learning, technology and performance.

 

He has consulted and trained a wide range of individuals from both the public and private sectors. This has given him valuable insight into the challenges, needs and operational objectives of different organisations in different industries.

 

Darren has also designed and developed government accredited training, customised training for multinational companies, eLearning courses, and also undertaken courseware quality assurance audits for a leading CET Centre.

 

He has worked with IAL for over a decade, and has facilitated various modules in the ACTA, ACLP, DACE and DDDLP programmes. Darren achieves much satisfaction in helping people maximise their potential in their lives.

Eunice Lim (Ms)

Eunice Lim (Ms)

Adult Educator | RE Training & Consultancy Pte Ltd

Eunice Lim is currently an Adjunct AE at IAL and runs her own learning consultancy company providing learning solutions to companies. Her key expertise is in learning and development with more than 14 years of experience in this sector. 


As an advocate for tech-enabled learning, she has influenced and mentored educators and several organisations across various industries to innovate and improve their learning and development capabilities. 


Eunice was one of the recipients for the SkillsFuture Fellowship award in 2021. Eunice is currently doing her PhD, holds a MA in Professional Education with NTU/NIE, MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Herriot Watt University and BBA in Business Administration from RMIT University. She also holds WSQ SDAF, DACE and ACTA certificates.

She is a Google for Education Certified Innovator, Trainer as well as Certified DiSC Trainer. She is currently a Co-Chairperson for Special Interest Group - Learning Technology as part of Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Adult Educator Network (AEN ) initiative.

Shannon Tan is an educator and researcher at Kaplan Higher Education Academy, where she serves as a lecturer and researcher. She also manages the Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching (JALT), contributing to advancing learning strategies in higher education. With a strong focus on the intersection of AI and adult learning, Shannon's recent work explores innovative ways to leverage technology to shape future-ready education. Her current research, emphasises the transformative potential of AI in enhancing learning experiences and fostering adaptive, lifelong education.
Jim Wagstaff (Dr)

Jim Wagstaff (Dr)

Co-founder | Noodle Factory
Dr Jim Wagstaff is an educator and entrepreneur based in Singapore. He focuses on digital pedagogy and the application of AI in teaching and learning. Jim co-founded Noodle Factory, an AI-powered teaching and learning platform, and has advised numerous educational institutions on using generative and conversational AI. He is also the co-founder of Jam Factory and a founding board member of Up 2 Speed, both companies in corporate education. Jim’s work and research focus on using AI to support differentiated instruction and effective learning practices. Jim is the author of the book AI-Assisted Teaching and Learning: A Generative AI Field Guide for Educators, which explores AI's transformative potential in education.
