What Is The Session About?

This panel discussion on "Engineer Project-based Collaboration and Learning" aims to equip participants with the knowledge to consider how to engage in collaborative learning projects. The discussion is designed around two key learning outcomes, each focusing on a different aspect of project-based learning and collaboration. Through discussions and sharing of critical incidents by the panellists, participants will gain practical experience and insights into the best practices for team collaboration, project management, and problem-solving within learning projects.

The first segment of the course focuses on team collaboration skills in a project-based learning environment. Participants will be able to describe and implement essential team collaboration skills that are crucial for the success of any learning project.

The second segment of the session delve into the development of metacognition and problem-solving skills within an experiential and error-based learning context. The discussion includes using errors and critical incidents to drive learning and capability development. Participants will engage in topics on how critical thinking and problem-solving skills can be developed through the iterative prototyping process.

By the end of the SIG session, participants will be able to discuss and apply the design practices of project-based collaboration and learning approaches in their professional work.

Describe team collaboration skills in project-based learning, incorporating activities such as role-playing exercises to practise clear communication, role assignment, and conflict resolution within projects. 
Suggest how error-based learning approach can foster metacognitive development and innovation in a team-based environment

David Hendrick Jr brings close to 30-years of expertise in corporate learning, digital learning transformation, lifelong learning strategies, leadership & organisational development, human resource management, and pre opening / start-up functions. In his new role, he leads the human resource development team to support the career development and capability building for the team of this newly set-up campus that focuses on developing a systemic population and preventive health care model for 1.5 million residents across Central North of Singapore, with the vision of adding 15 million years to healthy life. Formerly, at NHG Cares Institute, he was responsible for setting-up a learning network of providers across the health, social and healthcare ecosystem with the aim to develop and promote thought leadership in community care, as well as facilitate exchanges towards capability building of a future community workforce. David was also at the Centre for Healthcare Innovation in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, responsible for the transformation of digital learning to enable the healthcare workforce, through new learning pedagogies, and a 10-year digital transformation roadmap in learning.
