What Is The Session About?

Part I: Google Tools 101

How will training be like post-COVID-19? The new norm may mean a shift towards more blended classes, incorporating online sessions to facilitate learning, with workplace and classroom learning modes complementing it. What are the economical and user-friendly technology tools out there which can help you design a collaborative and engaging learning experience across the different learning modes?

 

This programme is designed to introduce the range of Google tools such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Slides, Google Drawings, Google Sites, Google Groups, Google Meet, personalising Chrome apps and extensions to make your lessons more dynamic and engaging across the online, classroom and even workplace learning spaces.

 

This session will be conducted online with skills practice incorporated for a short hands-on session. You are expected that to have some basic technical skills of navigating and using browsers to access the internet.  Pre-work is a MUST for the session to be effective.

 

Furthermore, this session will cover all the required information required for learners to work towards the attainment of Google for Education Level 1 certification exams should they aspire to.

 

(N.B. Please note that completion of this session will not certify you as an Google Educator. You will still need to take the Google Educator Exam by Google to get certified.)

 

 

Part II: Creating a Learning Experience with Google Tools

What comes to mind when you think of online training?  Synchronous, asynchronous, self-paced, e-learning? There are numerous learning modes and how you can blend your classroom or workplace learning sessions with the online space.

 

Part 2 of the ‘Power Up Your Learning Design with Google Series’ aims to guide learners through the creation and implementation of a learning experience using the various google tools. Starting from considerations of deploying a tech-enabled training session, they will have the opportunity to brainstorm on how they can utilise the various google tools to create a 4-hour learning experience using a ‘4 D’s of Learning’ as the approach of integrating technology into workplace learning. How the various Google Tools can be adopted to fit the various learning modes will also be covered.

 

This session will be conducted online with skills practice incorporated. You are expected that to have a sound knowledge of Google Tools or have completed Module 1: Google Tools 101 of this programme series

 

*Pre-work is a MUST for the session to be effective.


What Does The Session Cover?

By the end of Part I of this programme, participants will be able to:

Explain the key features of various Google Workspace (previously Gsuite) for Education Tools including Google Classroom, Slides, Doc, Sheet, Jamboard, Forms, Drawing, Sites
Select the appropriate Google Tools to facilitate engagement and collaboration for training
Create a learning space to facilitate engagement and collaboration for training
Prepare for the Google Educator Level 1 certification
 

By the end of Part II of this programme, participants will be able to:

Recommend a suitable technology implementation plan to facilitate learning in an organisation
Design a tech-enabled learning experience
Create a collaborative learning space in the online, offline and workplace context
Deliver a learning experience using Google Tools

Who Is It Suitable For?

  • Adult Education: Individuals involved in leadership, coaching and mentoring, learning facilitation, performance and competency assessment, coaching technology integration, or those involved in consultancy and advisory services relating to business excellence
  • Learning Management: Individuals involved in the management or support of learning in the areas of coaching, consultancy, mentoring, training, and the implementation of learning and development in order to drive business improvement
  • Anyone involved in Training and Adult Education who needs to transition their facilitation skills effectively to a virtual learning environment

Course Funding and Policies

Payment

Please proceed to make payment via eNets/credit card (VISA or MasterCard) at the end of the registration process. Kindly note that the system will automatically cancel the registration if full payment has not been successfully processed by 11.59pm (Singapore Time) on the same day of the registration. You will have to reapply for the course, subject to availability of vacancy at the point of your re-registration.


Additional Funding Available, If Applicable

Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset the selected programmes' fees for self-sponsored registrations only.


Please note the submission period for your SFC claim via MySkillsFuture needs to be within 60 days before the course start date (date inclusive). If your course start date is more than 60 days from the date of SFC application, the SSG-SFC portal would reject your application. In this case, you would need to pay the full course fees at the end of your course application.


Rescheduling

Request for rescheduling imust be submitted to IAL 2 weeks before the commencement of programme. Reschedule requests that come mid-way through training has to be supported by valid reasons; substantiated by references as evidence; such as a doctor's note; or a hospitalization chit.


Please submit your request to reschedule your course at MyIAL. A non-refundable administrative fee of

S$54.50 w/GST ($50) applies for the request and the next available slot will be offered


Withdrawal

Request for withdrawal from a programme is subjected to review by IAL and the decision is final. IAL reserves the right to request for supporting document(s). A non-refundable administration fee of

S$54.50 w/GST ($50) is applicable for withdrawal request. If the withdrawal notice is given less than 2 weeks before the programme start date, the paid fees will not be refunded.


Corporate Run

For dedicated corporate runs with a contract signed with IAL, billing and payment will follow the terms of the signed contract. Otherwise, payment would be expected upon registration.

About The Speaker

Eunice Lim (Ms)

Eunice Lim is currently an Adjunct AE at IAL and runs her own learning consultancy company providing learning solutions to companies. Her key expertise is in learning and development with more than 14 years of experience in this sector. 


As an advocate for tech-enabled learning, she has influenced and mentored educators and several organisations across various industries to innovate and improve their learning and development capabilities. 


Eunice was one of the recipients for the SkillsFuture Fellowship award in 2021. Eunice is currently doing her PhD, holds a MA in Professional Education with NTU/NIE, MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Herriot Watt University and BBA in Business Administration from RMIT University. She also holds WSQ SDAF, DACE and ACTA certificates.

She is a Google for Education Certified Innovator, Trainer as well as Certified DiSC Trainer. She is currently a Co-Chairperson for Special Interest Group - Learning Technology as part of Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Adult Educator Network (AEN ) initiative.
