What Is The Session About?

In this rapidly evolving World of Work, driven by technological advancements like Industry 4.0 and AI tools such as ChatGPT, we must adopt a new approach to learning that emphasises the development of mindsets, skillsets, and sensibilities. As digital disruptions become more frequent and their rate of adoption accelerates exponentially, it is crucial for both companies and individuals to stay competitive and adaptable.

This course begins by identifying the digital disruptions impacting the global workforce, with a specific focus on their heightened significance in Singapore. According to an Oxford Economics study with CISCO, 21% of Singaporean workers are projected to be displaced by digital disruptions by 2028, the highest percentage among ASEAN countries. Understanding these dynamics is essential for preparing future learners to navigate and transcend these changes.

Participants will explore the three key characteristics of digital disruptions and engage in discussions on how to best prepare students for these challenges. Practical examples and successful course curriculum redesigns will be shared, showcasing how to cultivate the necessary mindsets, skillsets, and sensibilities for the future World of Work. As a hands-on component, participants will engage in a preliminary activity to redesign their own course curriculum, applying the insights and strategies learned throughout the course. This redesign will focus on fostering versatility, agility, and an ability to make sense of and transcend digital disruptions.
