What Is The Session About?
Trainers and facilitators in the ever-evolving landscape of adult education constantly seek new and better ways to enable learners to engage with interconnected ideas and knowledge. Doing this requires a tool that organises and streamlines the connections between different ideas, providing clarity and making topics more accessible.
Mind-mapping is a transformative thinking technique which hones the human mind to think more effectively and clearly. By mapping out the connections between different topics, it is possible to achieve a greater understanding of material, which in turn leads to a more effective learning experience. Invented by Tony Buzan and based on research into the way the brain works, learns, and thinks, mind-mapping is a technique that will benefit both online and offline training design and delivery. By representing knowledge in this visible way, it is possible to streamline information, presenting all important topics on a single page, and seeing at a glance how different ideas relate to one another.
In this interactive, multi-sensory one-day workshop, you will explore the basic principles underpinning the mind-mapping technique through a series of mini-lectures, hands-on exercises, video clips, group discussions, presentations, and feedback sessions. You will experience the technique and tools first-hand by applying them in a guided manner to your own training content, using both traditional and digital tools. In this way, you will gain a deeper understanding of this approach to the organisation of knowledge and ideas, and in the process will acquire the skills to communicate effectively with your audience, harnessing the untapped potential of the human brain.
