The four-parts series for SIG – Learning Design in 2022 address the 4 Ps in Learning Design (Person, Principles, Process and Practice). In this first workshop, the focus lies on the Person of the learning designer. As Stephen Fleming aptly posited that “insight into our thoughts, or metacognition, is key to high achievements in all domains”, the session explores how learning designers can harness the power of metacognition for professional growth. Besides discovering how to synthesise metacognitive strategies in learning design, participants will gain first-hand insights from a panel of industry practitioners’ sharing on critical incidents of their journey as curriculum and courseware designers.
