IAL Opens Adult Learning Collaboratory In Celebration of 5th Anniversary with SUSS
Description
2024 marks the fifth year of IAL’s integration into the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). The anniversary celebration, graced by Minister of State for Education was held on 1 August at the Lifelong Learning Institute. IAL also launched a first-of-its-kind Adult Learning Collaboratory (ALC) at the milestone event.
ALC, a living lab combining the concepts of both ‘collaboration’ and ‘laboratory’, seeks to unite ecosystem players to tackle complex challenges in adult learning through a dynamic process of testing, experimentation, and iteration. The groundbreaking platform has attracted more than 20 ecosystem players as its partner, to innovate and test new solutions at distributed experiment sites across Singapore. Stakeholders include enterprises and training institutes to educators, researchers, and policymakers.
Rounding up the day, Associate Professor (Practice) Yeo Li Pheow, Executive Director of IAL, reaffirmed IAL’s mission and role in building Singapore’s workforce, “We shall continue to build on the ABCs of IAL’s work, and that is, Advance the adult learning ecosystem, Build deep research and inspire learning innovation, and last but not least, Catalyse workforce transformation.”
As we forge forward, let us also review the accomplishments of IAL in the last five years. Many thanks to the individuals who have made these successes possible.
