Skills Badges
At the Institute for Adult Learning, we recognise practice currency, experience and quality in the form of digital credentials such as skills badges. Skills badges can only be earned through showcasing your competence through practice. Completion of formal and informal programmes or applying for credit exemption through the Qualification Track will NOT automatically qualify you for the skills badge without producing authenticated work practice evidence.
However, IAL recognises and affirms your skills and proficiency by granting credit exemptions for some of IAL's programmes such as the WSQ Advanced Certificate for Learning and Performance (ACLP) or WSQ Diploma for Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP).
So, start attaining digital credentials in the form of skills badges and credit exemptions through demonstrating your skills and competencies through your practice evidence now!
Attaining the 5 skills badges tagged to ACLP credit exemption modules through the Skills Badges pathway will automatically qualify you for the equivalent module credit exemptions for WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning Performance (ACLP). See table below:

Application Packages
To align the effort and time taken to apply and to assess the different skills badges, we are introducing two types of packages. Each package will be determined by:
• The number of skills badges you wish to apply for
• The Assessment Unit of each skills badge, which is measured by the amount of time and effort required at each stage of the application

- Can apply for skills badges totaling no more than 6 Assessment Units if they wish to proceed with the Stage 2 Skills Assessment Interview application
- Prevailing fee for Skills Assessment Interview session is $136.25 (w 9% GST) Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident and $218.00 (w 9% GST) for Foreigners.
2. Applicants who applied for the Extended Package,
- Can apply for skills badges totaling no more than 12 Assessment Units if they wish to proceed with the Stage 2 Skills Assessment Interview application.
- Prevailing fee for Skills Assessment Interview session is $272.50 (w 9% GST) Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident and $436.00 (w 9% GST) for Foreigners.

Upon successful completion of Stage 2 Assessment Interview Session, make payment for the additional skills badges, as indicated in IAL’s email notification. Prevailing fee for EACH additional Skills Badge is $136.25 (w 9% GST) for Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident and $218.00 (w 9% GST) for Foreigners. You may make the payment via bank transfer to:

Notification of Results for Skills Assessment for Skills Badges
- Upon successful completion of Stage 2 Assessment Interview Session, you will be notified of the assessment outcome within the next 14 days.
- You are to reply with an acknowledgement email, attaching the screenshot saved under Step 7 for IAL to officially issue your skills badges. Note that payment for the first successful Skill Badge will be waived.
- You will be required to reply within 14 days to acknowledge, indicate acceptance, and make payment for awarded Skills Badges. After 14 days, the recommended Skill Badge(s) will no longer be eligible for acceptance.
- IAL reserves the right of final decision for award of skills badge and credit exemption.
Terms and Conditions
- IAL collects personal data for teaching, learning, research and administrative purposes. All personal data collected through IAL's website will be handled in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the "Act”). Please read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Please rest assured that all information and material received by IAL and our adjunct assessors will be treated with strict confidentiality and used only for the purpose of One-Stop Skills Credentialing assessment.
- SUSS and IAL reserve the right to pursue legal action against any individual or organization who submits falsified documents to apply for credit exemption(s) to attain WSQ qualification(s).
- IAL reserves the rights to decline or disqualify your application, including direct/credit exemption, skills badges and/or AEP recognition if awarded, at its sole discretion as it deems appropriate.
